Another order for psb by Dornbracht, manufacturer of high-quality bathroom fittings

Only 6 months after the first project was completed, the company Dornbracht relies again on psb. Due to the positive experiences gained in the project implementation at the beginning of 2010, the leading manufacturer of high-quality bathroom fittings placed an order with psb, for installing the central parts storage. A small parts warehouse (5 aisles), with interfaces to several production and order picking areas, located on different levels, will be handed over to the customer still this year!

The central warehouse will be filled with materials coming from the receiving area, or directly from production. The outbound material flows, on the other hand, are leading to production and to the joined assembly areas. According to Dornbracht’s production philosophy, as far as possible, full bins shall be handled. Nevertheless, ergonomic workstations, among others for order picking processes, are planned to be established at the man-machine interfaces.
With the expected transport volumes in the next years in view, the psb sprinter AS/RS systems were geared to high performance: each sprinter has been equipped with a topdrive, in order to reach the maximum performance parameters.

The system has been designed to handle bins of 600 x 400 mm, and 400 x 300 mm, with the bins being of different heights.
Warehouse management is effected by the psb selektron WMS module. The total system installation, which is extending over several floors, is monitored, at central spots, via selektron SCADA. This visualization is another module in order to provide for a high availability of the total system.
The second project for our customer Dornbracht, within nine months only, fills us with pride and motivates us, because only satisfied customers come back. And we do our best that Dornbracht will come back to psb still many times.
