GTT Trolley System again »scores« in the United States

psb intralogistics GmbH is proud to announce the reward of a new distribution facility on the east coast of the United Sates for one of the largest department store chains in the country. In 2006, Gartner trolley and conveyor systems were used in two previous facilities which handle the e-commerce business for all private online orders for the garment on hangers level. The systems were used in the goods-in areas, order picking, storage and returns of hanging garments.

In 2011, the retailer returned for yet an even larger distribution center. On a total of 2 million square feet, the retailer is going to process online orders. The entire overhead conveyor system is to be commissioned by the first quarter of 2012.

This new facility will give the retailer the flexibility to receive garments in boxes and transfer them onto a psb trolley system, where garments can be stored, as well as transported to the order picking area to be picked to fulfill orders received online. Furthermore, the system can be used to handle garments returned back to the facility, where they get steamed and repacked.

All equipment is installed by psb’s US partner World Source, based out of Batavia, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. World Source has been supporting multiple psb installations within the United States since 1992.

This is yet another testimonial that Gartner systems will live on within the psb intralogistics family of products, by supplying all components necessary to fulfill this project to customer satisfaction.
