kohlpharma has placed another order for a psb systems installation

kohlpharma again placed an order with psb, for the third implementation phase. The warehousing area of the leading importer of pharmaceuticals is now organized by 12 AS/RS stacker cranes in total.
In this new project, AS/RS stacker cranes, for pallets and bins, will be supplied. Special feature will be the automated cold storage, which will be operated by employing the psb optimizer as load handling device. With the optimizer, bins of different sizes can be stored on storage levels, similar to shelf-racking. All technical elements are especially designed for the cold storage environment.
The individual warehousing areas are connected with different points and destinations by utilizing psb conveyor technology and shuttle cars. Connection to the customer’s ERP system, through psb selektron MFR, and the visualization of the total system installation by selektron SCADA, are included in the psb delivery volume as well.
psb has also been requested to retrofit the AS/RS cranes of the first implementation phase with energy recovery modules. With these modules, the energy, developed during the deceleration (and braking action) of the crane drives, is re-generated into the power supply system and thus can be used by other consumers. This way, up to 50% of energy can be saved. With this retrofit, all 12 AS/RS devices at kohlpharma are equipped with eco-friendly and cost-efficient psb energy recovery modules. A positive contribution to the reduction of CO2 emissions and operation expenses.
