Krämer Pferdesport has placed an order with psb
Successful companies achieve enormous growth rates even in years of financial restraints. Such a company is Krämer Pferdesport, located in Hockenheim (south-western Germany). In order to meet these growth rates, also in the material flow terms, psb was asked to implement a new complex intralogistics infrastructure. This has been the start of the transition, from manual order handling to automated intralogistics.
Krämer Pferdesport supplies everything around equestrian sports, like equestrian clothes, stables supplies or other equestrian sport articles, e.g. saddles, etc. The customers can either shop online, or in one of the Krämer MEGA STORE across the country. This splitting into online trade and MEGA STORE supply also had to be taken under consideration in the design of the logistics processes.
In the extended distribution center, a fully automated small parts warehouse (8 aisles) will be operated with psb sprinter AS/RS miniload cranes. At the directly connected order picking workstations, the customer orders are initiated. Fast-moving items are picked in separate areas and forwarded to the orders, via specific order picking racks. Orders for online customers are picked into cartons; orders destined for the MEGA STORES are placed into »stack and nest« containers. A packing and dispatch line is connected with the system, in front of the shipping area.
The innovative concept of psb intralogistics won the project in an open idea and cost competition, so that after the initial design, psb will implement the mechanical equipment, control system, material flow computer and warehouse management system.
We are proud to realize this project for an ambitious and forward thinking new customer, according to the psb single supplier company philosophy.
